Our undergraduate programs provide a liberal arts foundation and a social science focus. Before you can join our school, you must complete the university’s admission process which starts with a general application. Once you have been accepted to ASU, you will be considered for admission into one of our undergraduate degree programs. Students who are transferring into ASU, or who have attended ASU in the past and who are returning, must have a minimum transfer GPA of 2.50 to be admitted to our school.
Admission to the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication doctoral program is highly competitive and admits new students in the fall only. Our doctoral program is designed to prepare students for research-oriented careers in universities and the public or private sectors. Students are provided training in communication theory, research methodology and a specialization in one or more areas of concentration.
As an Honors student in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication and Barrett Honors College you will have the opportunity to work closely with some of the nation’s top scholars in the study of communication. The knowledge and skills you develop as an Honors student in our school provides professional as well as personal benefits, whether you pursue graduate study or other career development after college graduation. Students interested in the Honors College must first apply to Arizona State University and then may begin the separate Barrett application.
