Student Life
The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication encourages its students to get involved on campus and in the community. Participating in a club, group, or philanthropy organization at ASU offers students the opportunity to meet new people, gain leadership experience, participate in community service, and enhance their overall experience at Arizona State University.
Our school provides our students opportunities for increasing communication skills through our co-curricular activities including a nationally competitive forensic team; a summer study abroad program to London, Dublin, and Edinburg; a community-oriented interpreters theatre; and the study of culture through performance. We also offer a wide range of internships to qualified students interested in getting experience in their career field.
Being involved with others who have similar interests is a great way to make lifelong friends and create a robust professional network.

Summer Study Abroad
Our summer study abroad program offers you a unique opportunity to study communication in different cultural contexts while experiencing plays in London; the countryside of Ireland; and the castles and kilts of Scotland.
Speech and Debate Team
Any Arizona State University undergraduate is invited to participate in our nationally known collegiate forensics program. We welcome all levels of experience or even if you have never seen a round of competitive forensics.
