Biography

Michael Tristano received both his BS and MS from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. Michael takes a critical/cultural and transdisciplinary approach to communication. He investigates how different marginalized identities resist and (re)produce dominant power structures. In particular, Michael is interested in contributing to communication studies research using queer of color critique and critical performance.

Research Interests

Critical/Culture and Performance Studies - Intersectionality, Queer of Color Critique, and Borderlands as it relates to the Queer Latinx experience.
