HDSHC Professor selected as Visiting Scholar in Spain

Amira de la Garza, associate professor, will spend summer 2016 in Albacete, Spain as a Visiting Scholar at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. De la Garza was selected because of her capacity to work with immersion ethnography.  She will be guiding the ethnographic aspects of field research with Spanish criminologists and legal scholars exploring relationships between the law, crime, housing and poverty.  De la Garza will be in the field for seven weeks with the group, with the exception of a trip to Oporto, Spain, where the group will present our work in progress at the Ibero-American Qualitative Congress.
