The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication is currently home to two academic journals:

Journal of Social and Personal Relationships is an international, interdisciplinary journal sponsored by the International Association for Relationship Research. It is currently edited by Paul Mongeau (Beth Babin Gallagher, editorial assistant), and it publishes empirical and theoretic research on myriad aspects of human social and personal relationships.

Journal of Family Communication is a specialty journal for the field of family communication published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates. It is edited by Kory Floyd. The journal publishes empirical studies, theoretic papers, and commentaries on communication about and within families and family relationships.
