The Hugh Downs School welcomes new faculty

Eric Margolis, associate professor, and Raena Quinlivan, visiting assistant professor, have joined The Hugh Downs School as new faculty members.


Dr. Eric Margolis was formerly in the Division of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at ASU. Dr. Margolis is well known through his scholarship on visual ethnography and visual sociology. He is the editor of two books, The Hidden Curriculum in Higher Education and The Blackwell Companion to Social Inequalities. He is currently completing the new Sage Handbook of Visual Research with his colleague, Luc Pauwels. He has also been an active member of our Graduate Faculty Committee for many years. 


Raena Quinlivan has assumed the role of visiting assistant professor in rhetoric with The Hugh Downs School. Dr. Quinlivan earned her Ph.D. from Penn State in 2008. Most recently she served as a lecturer at the University of Iowa. She is interested in feminist rhetoric, visual representations, embodiment, and new media.
